Former Smith Anderson Partner Matthew G.T. Martin Nominated by President Trump as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of N.C.

In a press release issued by The White House on September 8, the White House announced that President Donald Trump will nominate former Smith Anderson Partner Matthew G.T. Martin as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina. The United States Attorney serves as the chief Federal law enforcement officer within his or her Federal judicial district.

Currently Associate General Counsel for Duke Energy Corporation, Mr. Martin’s practice at Smith Anderson focused on complex litigation. He assisted clients with a variety of civil litigation, construction, and real property matters and was part of the firm’s commercial litigation, construction, and real estate groups.
