Sandy Costa Elected as Chairman of Metabolon, Inc.

Raleigh, N.C. – Metabolon, Inc., a global leader in the study of small molecules (metabolomics), has announced the election of Smith Anderson attorney Santo J. Costa as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Sandy has served on Metabolon’s Board of Directors since 2013 when he was elected as Independent Lead Director. Sandy currently serves on the Nomination and Governance Committee while chairing the Compensation Committee. In support of Sandy’s appointment, Metabolon CEO John Ryals stated in the company’s official press release that Sandy “has extensive life sciences industry expertise and boardroom experience and has brought valuable perspectives to the board.”

Sandy is a nationally recognized speaker on leadership, as well as legal and policy issues affecting the pharmaceutical industry. Sandy also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Alchemia Ltd. and as a member of the Board of Directors for Cytokinetics, Inc.
