RALEIGH, N.C. – On September 4, 2014, Smith Anderson and PricewaterhouseCoopers hosted the New Revenue Recognition Roundtable at the Renaissance Hotel at North Hills. Smith Anderson Partner Heyward Armstrong, along with CPA’s from PricewaterhouseCoopers, participated in the roundtable discussion on the new revenue recognition standard recently issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. The speakers discussed implementation of the new standard, its impact on public and private companies, and steps companies should take now to prepare for the new standard. With experience as both a CPA and a corporate and securities lawyer, Heyward offered attendees insight into disclosure, corporate governance and contractual considerations related to the new standard.
