Peter Bosman Judges Transaction Law Competition at Duke University School of Law

April 25, 2014

Raleigh, N.C. – On April 4, 2014, Smith Anderson attorney Peter Bosman served as a judge in Duke University School of Law’s Transactional Law Competition hosted by the school’s Law & Entrepreneurship Society.

Designed to be the transactional equivalent to Duke Law’s Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions, the Transactional Law Competition gave law students hands-on experience with drafting and negotiating deal documentation. Competitors were provided with a hypothetical scenario for a start-up client or its potential venture capital firm. They had to prepare an agreement, mark up the opposing side's proposal, and then negotiate its terms with the other side. Peter joined other area attorneys with experience in venture capital investing and advising start-ups to judge each competitor’s performance.
