Jeff Truitt speaks to area Rotary group on changing role of U.S. Navy surface forces

Raleigh, NC (February 24, 2011) -- Jeff Truitt, a lawyer with Smith Anderson, delivered a presentation to local business and community leaders at a Raleigh area chapter of Rotary International on February 23. Mr. Truitt discussed the role of Navy ships in the national ballistic missile defense system.

Mr. Truitt is a business lawyer that focuses his practice in acquisitions, mergers and entrepreneurial transactions in various industries. He is also a member of Smith Anderson’s Government Contracting team, and has assisted clients with administration of Recovery Act assistance grants and cooperative agreements. A former active duty JAG Corps officer, Mr. Truitt holds the rank of Commander in the reserves and drills with Commander, Naval Surface Forces Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia.

Immediately prior to joining Smith Anderson, Mr. Truitt practiced corporate and securities law with Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago.
