Merrill Mason Reviews Grant Applications for NC IDEA’s Spring 2013 Grant Cycle

RALEIGH, N.C.  – On March 22, 2013, Merrill Mason, the head of Smith Anderson’s Start-Ups practice, volunteered to review several applications of North Carolina-based start-up companies who applied for a NC IDEA grant worth up to $50,000. Thirty semi-finalists were chosen from 159 applications and were invited to submit a full, more detailed proposal to NC IDEA by mid-April. Finalists for the NC IDEA grant will be selected at the beginning of May to present before a review panel.

The NC IDEA grants support business plan research and development, reduce the risk of early failure and advance projects to the point of suitability for angel or venture capital investment. For more information, please visit ncidea.org.
