Merrill Mason and Robert Rehm Participate in Panel Presentation at Wake Forest University’s School of Law

Greensboro, NC (March 31, 2011) – Merrill Mason, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Corporate Securities practice area, and Robert Rehm, a partner in Smith Anderson’s Intellectual Property practice area, participated in a panel presentation on Creative Capital: Intellectual Property Creation & Venture Capital held at The School of Law at Wake Forest University. The symposium addressed the many points of intersection between intellectual property and business law, with particular focus on the IP-based startup company.

Mr. Rehm was on the panel that addressed intellectual property creation (from cradle to grave) particularly how intellectual property is used as a negotiating tool. Mr. Mason was on the panel that addressed financing the IP-based startup which addressed the tension between the venture capital markets and intellectual property law in a competitive landscape.
