Francisco Benzoni Teaches Continuing Legal Education Course on e-Discovery

RALEIGH, N.C. – Smith Anderson attorney Francisco J. Benzoni taught a course on “Protecting Privilege in e-Discovery” on Nov. 29, 2012 at the North Carolina Bar Center in Cary, N.C. Approximately 90 attorneys attended the Continuing Legal Education seminar in-person or via webcast as part of a day-long program titled “e-Discovery 101: The Basics of Handling e-Discovery in an Increasingly Digital World.”

In his presentation, Mr. Benzoni analyzed recent e-Discovery related amendments to state and federal rules of professional conduct and civil procedures, explained the benefits and risks associated with these changes, and provided practical guidance on protecting the attorney-client privilege throughout the e-Discovery process.

Mr. Benzoni’s practice focuses on litigation, renewable energy and healthcare law. As Smith Anderson’s e-Discovery coordinator, Mr. Benzoni tests litigation software platforms to determine cost-effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency; sets up onsite demonstration with vendors; and presents on practical and conceptual issues in e-Discovery.
