Smith Anderson Attorney Katherine Young Biegler Selected for the NCBA’s Leadership Academy

RALEIGH, N.C. – Katherine Young Biegler, an associate at Smith Anderson, has been selected as one of 15 young lawyers for the North Carolina Bar Association’s Leadership Academy Class of 2012.

The Leadership Academy was implemented last year under then-President Gene Pridgen’s leadership by the NCBA’s Young Lawyer Initiatives Task Force in collaboration with the Center for Creative Leadership, which is a well known leadership training organization headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Leadership Academy strives to help young lawyers become effective leaders in their communities.

Katherine focuses her practice in the areas of employee benefits, compensation, and estate planning, providing representation with respect to retirement plans, welfare plans, and equity-based compensation, as well as individual tax planning and trusts and estates. She is also a member of the Smith Anderson recruiting and associate committees.
