Matthew Eisley joined Smith Anderson in 2010 after a 22-year career in journalism. In his role as Manager of Strategic Communication, Matthew works with Smith Anderson's Government Relations team and other lawyers to advance the interests of the Firm's clients. He also assists with client development. And he counsels the Firm's lawyers and clients on communication strategy, news media relations and crisis management.
Before joining Smith Anderson, Matthew was most recently a News & Observer editor and columnist.
Matthew, a North Carolina native who also grew up in Georgia, is married to Laura Marino Riddick, Wake County's Register of Deeds. They have a daughter, Elizabeth Riddick.
