Addie Ries is a litigation attorney who represents clients in a wide array of business-related disputes.  Addie has significant experience in contract disputes, corporate governance disputes (including shareholder disputes, fiduciary duties, and business break-ups), franchise disputes, products liability, and business negligence disputes involving property damage, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death.  She has represented clients from a broad range of industries, including the aviation, automotive, financial, hospitality, pharmaceutical/medical device, manufacturing, real estate, utilities and transportation industries. 

Addie has represented clients in such commercial litigation matters through jury and bench trials before North Carolina state courts and the North Carolina Business Court, as well as in cases before federal courts in North Carolina and other jurisdictions nationwide.  In addition, she has appeared before the American Arbitration Association in national and international arbitration matters.

Addie is dedicated to meeting her clients’ needs with experience and efficiency.  She regularly counsels clients in anticipating and resolving disputes before they reach litigation.

Addie has been honored by Martindale Hubbell with an “AV Preeminent” rating in Litigation, Commercial Law, and Aviation and Aerospace, based on reviews from her peers.  She also serves on the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys’ Diversity Committee and the Board of Directors for Children's Flight of Hope.
