Celebrating 100 Years
As we reflect on Smith Anderson’s 100-year history, we are humbled by the trust and confidence that generations of clients have shown us. When our Firm was founded in 1912, automobiles were just gaining popularity and the radio was emerging as a communication tool. One hundred years of practicing law has grounded our Firm’s culture, informed our perspective, and provided us the insight necessary to help our clients succeed.
Today, Smith Anderson is grateful to all of our clients and friends who share our history and who have been integral to the growth that has made us the largest business and litigation law firm headquartered in the Research Triangle area and one of the largest in North Carolina. Every day we strive to show our appreciation to those we serve by demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality, innovation and leadership. Smith Anderson was honored in 2012 to serve as lead counsel for many of the most significant transactional, litigation and regulatory matters in our state and region. To help mark our centennial, we committed $100,000 to Legal Aid of North Carolina, a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free legal advice to ensure equal access to justice in our courts. We are also proud to support annually more than 50 area not-for-profits and associations through sponsorships, the personal investment of volunteer time, and the holding of leadership positions within these organizations.
We have come a long way since our founding in 1912, but our core principles are unchanging. We are dedicated to furthering our clients’ interests by providing intelligent guidance, strategic counsel, solid advice and excellent results.
